A very British Olympics

Sadly it looks as though The Lost Decade season is coming to an end on BBC 4 however there are still some clips on the website and some of the most fascinating relate to a programme I was lucky enough to catch called 'A very British Olympics'.

This tells the story of the 1948 Olympics, the last time they were held in London. But this was a London still half in ruins where the athletes were housed in rapidly-converted POW camps, made their own sandwiches and, in the case of the female British team, made their own kit.

Fascinating stuff, true blitz spirit. If that's what London was able to do in 1948 then 2012 should rock.
